Two WHOLE days!!!!.........

My kids were angels.  Well.....except for the occasional "butt" comments from Kohl.  We left on Friday morning for Knight's checkup in Denver.  First we had to stop in OG at the chiro so I could get adjusted.  Before we went in I gave the kids the what for in the car about sitting there quietly while I got worked on.  I mean let's face it.  If you know the little red head you all know that when he gets around anyone besides Wade and I he completely loses it.  He shows off.  And that's usually in the form of saying things that he probably shouldn't.  And completely embarassing me.  :)  He was great though which made me wonder what the hell he was trying to get me to do for him.

Next stop.  Denver.  Again, we went to Knight's hour long appt. and neither of them whined or complained that we weren't done yet.  Knight let them take his blood like a trooper and we were on our way.  I was doing a happy dance because his seizures are under control now and he doesn't have to go back for 6 months.  The kids were excited because we could now head to Grandma's in Fort Collins.

We went swimming at the rec center, visited a train museum and went to a Barnes & Noble without any major meltdowns.  I always say a little prayer before going in a large store.  It usually includes the following, "Lord please let me get through this shopping experience without the store throwing us out or calling the cops for a major disturbance."  :)  But again, NOTHING.  Well, unless you count Kohl getting super sad when we left cause he thought Grandma had bought him a Spongebob book and we both thought he didn't want the Spongebob book.  Needless to say, Grandma went back in and got the book and everything was great again.

I went shopping at the outlets and discovered I have a major problem.  All I want to buy is running gear.  It's sad really.  My wardrobe right now consists of shorts, dri fit anything, and running shoes.  Running shoes that I have 5 pair of right now but have 2 favorites so should really sell those "extra" 3 pair.  But I got some really great deals at Nike and Under Armour that I should have couldn't pass up!!

Decided to leave early Sunday morning to head home because we all know how kids are after you've been gone for a weekend and then they have to go back to school on Monday.  GROUCHY!!  It only took about 2 hours of traveling for the MONSTERS to return to my life.  I got a good 2 days out of them though so that's a good start!!  We had a great little getaway and now I could use a getaway with myself.  :)  Or maybe a drink.

Hello??!!!........Anyone there??!!!

I'm BACK!!!  At least for a day anyway.  :)  It's raining out today.  THANK YOU GOD!!  People keep asking me where the hell I've been and why haven't I been blogging or answering my phone during the day.  I'll tell ya why.  Until I get a phone in my yard, down in the barn, or anywhere outside for that matter, you're not going to be able to reach me during the day.  I absolutely love this time of year.  It's been so nice here I haven't been able to make myself stay inside for very long.  Flower beds are cleaned out and stuff is growing already!  Mowed my yard yesterday to get all the yuck off of it, turned on the underground sprinklers (which are leaking in the control box so have to get that fixed), and put down some grass seed just in time for the rain today.

I'll tell ya how much I love being outside this time of year.  Last weekend I knew I wanted to ride and do yardwork on Saturday.  I freaking hate the treadmill.  But, I knew if I wanted to get my long run for the week in that it was gonna have to be on the mill so I could ride in the afternoon.  I ran 7.5 miles on that damn thing.  Turned on the new Footloose movie (which I wanted to hate so bad cause I loved the first one so much) and I thought it was great!  It helped to pass the time and I got it done so I could do other stuff in the afternoon.  Hopefully I will not have to do a repeat of that anytime soon though.  Outside is much better for running!

Here's a little recap of what you've missed in my life since I last blogged.  (Which was forever ago and you'll soon realize that nothing exciting has really happened in my life cause I'm boring.)

1.   Calving has hit full force.  We're getting tons of babies so everyone is super busy and running around like idiots most of the day.

2.   Knight helped pull his first calf and proceeded to tell me that he'd stuck his arm up a cow's "you know what".  Super impressed with himself.

3.   Scarred my nephew for life when he witnessed his first calf bed falling out and having to help push it back in so Wade could sew her up.  :)  Good times.

4.   Laid down the freakin law with the boys because their potty mouths were getting out of hand!!  It's been so much more pleasant around our house the last week since I threatened them with their lives.  :)

5.  Knight turned 8!!  Holy crap I still can't believe that I have an 8 year old.  People are going to quit believing that I'm only 25 here pretty soon.  :)

6.  Kohl stole Knight's old horse and told Wade he would sell him his horse "Pete" (which is Wade's horse anyway).  When I asked him what he was going to sell him for he told me he was worth $43.  Anyone wants a really good ranch horse for cheap you might want to hit Kohl up!!

Well, told you that would bore you to death.  I'll try and liven things up a bit around here so I have something exciting to blog about.  The boys and I are headed to Fort Collins this weekend for shopping vacation.  I'm sure I'll have some great stories after that!!

My week in a nutshell..........

And nutty it was!!  My week started off with a bang.  Wade's head banging on the ground that is.  Monday I'm on the dreadmill and Kohl comes up and says Wade needs me downstairs.  I'm instantly pissed cause I know that once I get off that thing I'll never want to get back on.   I haul my ass downstairs cussing as I go and ask what the hell he wants......  Then I feel somewhat bad because he's sitting in the chair with blood on his face cause he's had a horse fall down with him.  Ooops......  I can instantly tell that he's broken his nose.  No one else will be able to tell, but I can.  I ask him if he wants to go to the doctor cause he's also hurt his wrist and to me it looks broken.  Of course he doesn't want to go to the Dr..  Only wimps go to the doctor.  I head back up to the dreadmill cause I'm annoyed that he won't go to the Dr..  Thirty minutes later here he comes and says he thinks he should go to the clinic.  REALLY????  NO SHIT!!  I was not impressed that he waited till I was dripping sweat to decide he wanted to go.  Pretty sure I even asked if I had time for a shower.  :)  Totally not sympathetic at that point.

Long story short.  Cat scan showed a fractured wrist, fractured nose, and fractured eye socket.  In which none of these are getting fixed cause the nose you can't tell, the eye socket might have been an old injury but we'll wait and see if his vision starts to go, and the wrist could be an old injury cause it's not bothering him much anymore.    While I am thankful that he's not hurting I am still leary about the eye socket and the muscle and tissue that has seaped into his sinus cavity.  I guess time will tell if he will have to get that fixed.  I guess I'll know when he starts to resemble a cyclopse.

It only went downhill from there......
Thursday Kohl comes in the kitchen and tells me I HAVE to come look at something.  I figure it's another of his brilliant corral designs that he's come up with so I tell him to wait a minute.  Five minutes later he comes back and tells me that I REALLY need to look out the window at something.  This is what he was talking about:

Wade's feed sled was on fire across the meadow.  I quickly explained to Kohl that next time if he just yelled "FIRE" it would help me greatly.  :)

We hauled ass over there and ended up having to call the fire department to come put it out.  We were really lucky that it didn't burn any pasture up because the wind was blowing so hard that day.  Wade was none too happy though.  Shane remined us that bad things happen in 3's so I'm silenty sitting back waiting for the final blow.  My mom was quick to point out that if we were going somewhere that I should NOT let Wade drive.

And to finish off the horrible joyous week, I had to put on a swimming suit yesterday.  NOT FUN!!!!  Well, we did have fun, it just wasn't fun to squeeze myself into a bathing suit.  Jamie and I took Knight, Payton and some friends to the rec center for swimming for their birthdays.  They had a great time and I realized in order to look good in one of those damn things I should step away from the fridge.  :)
